WonderInn Presents New Glamping Cabins in Northern Norway
WonderInn is excited to announce the launch of an exciting new project, the first of its kind in Northern Norway. Building upon the success of WonderInn’s glamping sites in Eastern Norway, the new cabins offer a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty of Northern Norway’s nature. From spectacular displays of the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun to turquoise fjords and dramatic mountains, guests can experience it all. Local wildlife, including whales, reindeer, moose, eagles, otters, and more, have also been spotted near the cabins.
Located just an hour’s drive from Evenes Airport and 20 minutes from Harstad city, the new cabins are the perfect base for exploring Lofoten and Vesterålen. The opening of the new cabins in Kvæfjord, just ten minutes from Nupen, known as “Norway’s most romantic place,” is planned for the weekend of September 8-10 this year, marking the beginning of the Northern Lights season. The cabins offer stunning views right from the bed, a private patio with a hot tub, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, and the option to reserve time in the sauna with mirrored glass windows and panoramic fjord views. The location also has its own shoreline and offers opportunities for hiking both on foot and on skis directly from the property.
Two of the four new cabins have been developed in collaboration with the Estonian company ÖÖD Houses, featuring large roof-to-floor windows designed for romantic nights under the Arctic night sky. The cabins provide a luxurious and romantic experience close to nature, with easy access from the parking area and facilities for people with disabilities.
The two front cabins among the four have reflective floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, seamlessly blending into the nature outside and providing panoramic views from the inside. The unique design evokes a sense of “Wonder,” of something fascinating (hence the name WonderInn), and one wonders what actually lies behind the facade. Inside the cabins, you’ll find a kitchen, bathroom, dining area, and a bed, ideal for a stay for two people for a few nights.
The location just outside Borkenes is ideal for Northern Lights observation, with minimal light pollution. During the winter months, it’s common to see the Northern Lights weekly, and many tourists come to the area to experience this phenomenon. The picture is taken from the property.
About WonderInn: The story began in Australia, where Norwegian Erle Lima Bjølgerud (30) met Belgian Jeremy Hermans (33), and together they decided to convert a camper van and explore the country. The experience sparked their interest in minimalist living and living “small” in compact units. After returning to Norway, they founded WonderInn in 2018. WonderInn offers unique accommodation and glamping experiences throughout Norway and is regularly featured in leading international media. Their first project is one of the most sought-after properties on Airbnb. Learn more at www.wonderinn.no.
